Spring hasn’t quite sprung just yet, but it sure does feel like it here on the Coast.
We can tell the warmer weather is on the way as beach rental vendors begin to pop back up along Highway 90. Plenty of people were spending the day on the beach, taking advantage of the nice weather this morning.
People who work at ‘Life’s a Beach’ in Biloxi by the lighthouse say they’re gearing up for the crowds as all the spring and summer events get underway.
News 25 caught up with a family who came all the way from Minnesota to escape the chilly weather still lingering up north. Minnesota resident Jaylen Welciek said, “We just went down here to spend some time during Spring Break, check out the beaches. It’s been like 30 degree weather down in Minnesota, so it’s really nice down here.”
Lifeguard with Life’s a Beach Jet ski Rentals Tayler Shirey said, “Everything went pretty good last year. We’re just hoping to capitalize on last year. Every year we try to do a little better. Anytime anything happens here, lots of people come down here. They got Black Spring Break coming up first and it will probably be pretty busy and then we get busy for Scrapin’ the Coast and everything.”
The beach vendors offer everything from jet skis to aqua cycles or just a place to sit back and soak up the sun. They’ll close up shop once the cooler weather returns in November.
