It’s been weeks since a devastating tornado ripped through the Hattiesburg-Petal area. Relief efforts are still ongoing as the Pine Belt community continues to recover and rebuild.
The good news is that help is still on the way. This Friday and Saturday, at McDowell-Nance Temple in Hattiesburg, a temporary relief distribution center will open its doors to those in need.
Today Pastor Paul D. Brent with Church of God in Christ, the group organizing this relief effort, stopped by News 25 to get the word out. “I went through there on Saturday. There are a lot of people that’s still going through their areas of concern. The homes are, some are livable, some they’re still going through seeing what they can salvage out of there and they still need extra stuff so if the churches, the community centers, and others can help out, it would be a blessing to them.”
