This afternoon in Gulfport, a fundraiser was held in an effort to bolster the campaign of Democratic congressional candidate Mark Gladney.
Gladney was in attendance at the Almanett Hotel and Bistro for the event which was sponsored by the Harrison County League of Women Voters. They provided door prizes, live entertainment and raffled off items to help raise funds to assist in Gladney’s campaign. Minority Caucus Leader of the MS House of Representatives David Baria said, “This is a group that is the Harrison County League of Women Voters. They do really good work making sure that people get registered and get to the polls on Election Day. They’re sponsoring this particular fundraiser tonight.”
Ruthie White with the Harrison County Federation of Democratic Women said, “We can win this nomination. We are trying to turn this state blue. It’s not impossible. We can. Democrats don’t give up.”
Gladney is a Mississippi native as well as a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel.

The event was sponsored by the Harrison Co. Federation of Democratic Women, not the League of Women Voters.
