The Beauvoir is one of the Coast’s favorite historical museums and on Christmas admission was free.
The staff at Beauvoir tells News 25 it was their Christmas gift to the public. Visitors were able to stroll the grounds, enjoy the beautiful scenery, and spend time with the animals at no cost.
Families were taking advantage of the nice weather and were scattered throughout the property.
One woman tells News 25 she wanted to come out to Beauvoir to start a new family tradition. Waveland resident Charlotte Tartavoulle said, “I’ve always loved the Gulf Coast, been here all my life. I’ve always done the Beauvoir, when Marine Life was here we did it yearly. We have a beautiful Gulf Coast and this is the way to promote it is to come and do the things that we do have and we have a lot here on the Gulf Coast.”
The grounds were open from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. General admission is usually $12.50.
