A Vancleave man who has been on the run for several weeks with felony warrants against him is now behind bars.

A sheriff’s deputy, with the help of a Gautier Police Officer and K-9, arrested 39 year old Joseph Brewer late last night after authorities say brewer ran into the woods behind his home.

Sheriff Mike Ezell says after a brief struggle, officers were able to get him into a patrol car, where brewer was searched.
Brewer was found to be in possession of seven grams of crystal meth.
Along with the drug charges, brewer is also charged with receiving stolen property, felony eluding, resisting arrest and contempt of court.
He is being held without bond pending a court hearing.
