It was a busy day for Biloxi, leading up to tonight’s series finale as former Shucker Javi Salas was added back onto the roster upon Angel Ventura getting called up to Triple A Colorado Springs.
Before the game, News 25 caught up with the former Shucker who is back for more fresh off his stint in extended spring training and couldn’t be happier to be back. “It’s fun. I think that’s what you sign up for when you play minor league baseball, you really don’t know what’s going to happen. And you just think every day you can’t take them for granted and extended makes you realize how important being on a full-season team is and enjoying it and I’m just happy to be back. I mean, we’ve been in some towns and you go around minor league baseball and it really makes you appreciate Biloxi.”
Salas says he got the call around 4 p.m. on Monday and was on a flight to the Gulf Coast by 7 a.m. on Tuesday.
