As a very strong tropical air mass continues to affect the area…early morning showers have dried up but a few t-storms are on-tap this afternoon. This scenario will continue through Saturday when a cold front will approach the region. The cold front will slowly move into and through the region with the main energy affecting the viewing area Sunday. Although there IS NOT a current SEVERE THREAT for the weekend, HEAVY RAIN will be a strong possibility Sunday.
This front will be the focal point for numerous showers and thunderstorms as it slowly moves across the forecast area. Models are starting to show decreasing stability for the weekend with the main threat being periods of HEAVY RAIN…especially Sunday.
