Today, Harrah’s Gulf Coast proudly presented a $40,000 check to the American Red Cross.
The contributions to help further the organization’s mission in Texas were raised by ticket sales to the Little Big Town concert hosted at the Great Lawn.
Jonathan Jones of Harrah’s Gulf Coast told News 25 that ticket sales had slowed, but once they announced that the funds would go toward Harvey relief they once again picked up. “I think it’s important to begin the rebuilding process and you know we are real proud of where we have come as a Gulf Coast, as a region, as a community. So, anything we can do to help speed that up for those affected in Texas and also in Florida, you know, it’s really important to us.”
Michelle Wilson from the Red Cross accepted the check today and will be deploying to Florida to assist with whatever is needed.
