The City of Gulfport is gearing up for the Octane Car Show. Exotic and rare cars from all over the country will take over downtown Gulfport Saturday.
News 25’s Gina Tomlinson gives us a sneak peek of what to expect.
There’s an entirely new car show gearing up to roll into downtown Gulfport Saturday morning starting at 9 o’clock. Gulfport Octane will feature more than one hundred exotic cars with most cars valued at over six figures. The event is free and open to the public. Joff Clark with Gulf Coast Exotic Auto said, “There’s going to be cars coming from all the way from North Florida to Baton Rouge. It should be a tremendous turn out of exotic cars.”
Along with live music, food, and drink will be available. Restaurants by Fishbone Alley will open their doors to car enthusiasts. Laurie Toups with Gulfport Main Street said, “It’s a fun family event. That’s what we’re always looking for, something that’s really good for the whole entire family.”
Today Gulf Coast Exotic Auto was getting their finest vehicles ready to be featured. Octane will have Bugattis, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bentleys, Rolls Royce, and more on display. “We have a GT3 that we’ll probably be taking down. We’re going to have some Ferraris. We’re going to have an R8.”
“We’re really excited because it’s something new to the city. This is the first year that we’re helping out with this,” said Toups.
The Gulfport Main Street Association and the Gulfport Police Department are some of those sponsoring the car show. Streets south of Railroad Street between 20th Avenue to Highway 49, 14th Avenue and 26th Avenue will close for the event. “We’re very excited about it that we could even be a part of this. It should be a terrific, terrific event,” said Clark.
The car show will take over downtown from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday.
