Emergency management officials along the Coast are preparing for what could be a wintery Friday morning. This includes the potential for icy roads and an extended period of cold temperatures.
Biloxi Emergency Manager Michelle Crowley and Harrison County Emergency Management Director Rupert Lacy say there are few things you can do to protect your family, pets, and house from the winter weather. “Biggest thing is the four P’s: protect your pets, people, plants, and pipes. Consider also that you have bridges around here, elevated roadways, and you’re going to have to take the time to slow down and make sure you travel safely,” said Crowley.
Lacy said, “We are encouraging people that are using gas type heating, carbon monoxide detectors, change the batteries now. Be safe. That way if you have a build-up there is no loss of life from that.”
